The Martin Luther King Jr. Performing and Cultural Arts Complex exists to enrich and improve the quality of life in our community and society, creating enhanced understanding by preserving, presenting and fostering the contributions of African Americans through creative expression and education while building bridges of harmony among all people.
The King Arts Complex presents over 48 performing arts & cultural arts events during the annual season of programming spanning dance, music, film, theater, visual arts and educational programs; hosts more than 30 meetings; provides space for over 46 community meetings and non-profit organizations; employs over 347 artists; conducts over 54 tours; provides rental space for more than 87 events; and, has total audiences of over 75,000 persons participating in this diverse array of activities
